The Official Selection of Short Films will be announced on 12th June, 2021 and will be showcased online during the Festival from June 15th to June 27th.
The last 12 months have been difficult for everyone. While the world continues to fight the deadly pandemic, things have been exceptionally tough here in India. When we announced the Filmingo International Short Film Festival 2020 last September, all indications pointed to things getting back to sufficiently normal levels so as to hold an online-only event towards the end of the year. Unfortunately, things didn’t go as we had planned.
First, the pandemic continued its deadly march and we had to push our submission deadline forward to accommodate the changing scenarios around us. Secondly, we were overwhelmed by the sheer number of entry submissions we received from filmmakers around the globe. For Filmingo 2020, we’ve received the most number of entries from outside India so far, which speaks at length about the quality of our festival.
Since the beginning of 2021, we’ve been hard at work trying to complete our internal processes and schedule the online event four our participating filmmakers and our audience. We fought through various obstacles like repeated lockdowns, health issues and hospitalizations of our staff, scheduling conflicts, etc. and have had to postpone our schedules several times. Through all this, we were not able to keep our participating filmmakers updated, and for that we apologize.
Official Selection List for Filmingo 2020
Today, we’re delighted to announce that we’ve overcome most of our internal obstacles and have finally come to our point where we can announce that the Official Selection of Short Films for Filmingo 2020 will be announced on June 12th, 2021. We know that all of you have been anticipating this announcement for a really long time, and we assure you that we’re bringing things right on track.
Filmingo 2020 Festival Dates
We’re also delighted to announce the schedule for the Filmingo International Short Film Festival 2020, which will be held from June 15th, 2021 to June 27th, 2021. Filmmakers and Short film enthusiasts from around the world will be able to register on our website and watch all our Officially Selected short films any time between these days. These short films will be made available on-demand, so you can watch any of the films you want, any time you want.
Registrations will be open as soon as we announce the Official Selection on June 12th. The first 200 registrations will be offered completely Free. In case you missed making that cut, you’ll be able to register for a small fee of just Rs. 200 — payable via Credit or Debit Cards, Netbanking, UPI (PhonePe, Google Pay, etc.) or Wallets. For viewers outside India who do not have an Indian payment source, you will be able to register for just $5.
For participating filmmakers who’ve submitted an entry this year, you’ll get one Free Entry to the festival. That’s not all, you’ll get a special Coupon Code that you can hand out to your family & friends who will be able to register with a cool Rs. 50/- OFF. We’ll share all the details with you in a couple of days.
